Description

Using the current OL to load a UK Ordnance Survey map, with a draggable marker in a vector layer, both the map and the marker come up in print preview ...

... but using the same current version of OL I can't get anything in print preview, not even the marker in the vector layer produced very similarly to the Ordnance Survey one ...

Tried it again today, and it worked. Very odd.

Nevertheless, such is the impression given of unreliability of all the mapping environments that I've tried, I've decided put adding a map to the bottom of my priority list!

Well, I've been keeping an eye on this, and not been able to reproduce it.

What I may as well leave on record, in case it helps others, is something that sometimes happens in IE6, that no print preview comes up at all - if I then go into the advanced settings and change the state of the Print background colors and images' option (it doesn't seem to matter what the setting is changed to or from, just that it is changed) the problem is then solved.

Perhaps this item can be closed if the powers that be so desire.

Except that I've just discovered that the markers don't appear in the print preview for Opera 9.63.

Sigh!

I sometimes wish I'd never got interested in mapping technology ...

Here's a fuller analysis:

Opera 9.63
No vector layer (used for draggable markers) in preview or print.
If Google hybrid base layer, both hybrid layers, satellite and map, in preview, but only the map layer prints; either satellite or map baselayer alone prints ok.

FF 3.0.5
Everything as should be. Vector layer in preview and print, both hybrid layers in preview and print.

IE6
Vector layer in preview and print.
If Google hybrid base layer, both hybrid layers, satellite and map, in preview (blocky backgrounds to some map features), but only the map layer prints; either satellite or map baselayer alone prints ok.

Someone has tested IE7 for me, and apparently it's the same as IE6.
