The OpenLayers Development Team is proud to announce the release of OpenLayers 2.3 RC2. OpenLayers 2.3 is a maintenance release, incorporating a number of minor bugfixes to the OpenLayers 2.2 release.

Fixes in this RC includ:

• A number of improvements in IE behavior, especially with regard to controls
• A fixed version of isEquivilantURL
• Small fix to build tools
• Improvements to the OverviewMap control.

I want to especially thank Erik Uzureau and Tim Schaub for their tireless efforts to improve various functionality in the Internet Explorer browser. Their dedication to this effort has had benefits which are extremely important, and without them, this release would not have been able to move forward as it did.

To test 2.3 in your applications, include the following tag in your OpenLayers-powered page:

Bug reports can be filed in Trac, under the 2.3-rc2 version and the 2.3 milestone.
